  • Are not allowed to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) on public roads.
  • Can not have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) or commercial learner’s permit (CLP).

Beginning July 1, 2024, the Georgia Department of Driver Services will begin removing the commercial driving privileges (downgrade) from the driver's license of customers that are “prohibited” until the driver completes the return-to-duty (RTD) process. This RTD process is different for each customer. To learn more about the Clearinghouse final rule, visit https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov.
