Important Information

How are convictions reported?

After a conviction of a traffic offense, the court will forward notice of that conviction to DDS. The conviction information will be placed on the driver's driving record by DDS and additional penalties will be imposed, if applicable. Some offenses can result in the loss of your driving privileges.

How do I check reported convictions and license impacts?

If you’ve been convicted of an offense impacting your driving record, DDS recommends checking your status online first via the "Online Services" link below. Log in or create an account to view convictions, license status, suspensions, points, and reinstatement steps if suspended—allow time for court updates. Alternatively, call 678-413-8400 (M-F, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM), visit a DDS Customer Service Center, or mail a request with your name, license number, birth date, address, and signature to: Georgia DDS, P.O. Box 80447, Conyers, GA 30013.

My license has been suspended, can I still drive?

In some situations, a limited driving permit may be available for a fee during the suspension period.  The permit restricts the places and purposes that you are allowed to drive. Please visit the Limited Permits page linked below for more information.
