An out-of-state license is defined as one issued by one of the other 49 states, the District of Columbia and US Territories. You must apply for a Georgia Driver's License within 30 days of becoming a Georgia resident.  All Customer Service Centers can transfer an out-of-state license to a Georgia Driver's License or ID.

This requirement covers non-commercial driver's licenses and ID cards. Commercial drivers, please visit Transfer Out-of-State Commercial Driver's License.

Drivers from US Territories please view Reciprocity for US Territories for more information.
