CDL Third Party Testing Program
CDL THIRD-PARTY TESTING PROGRAM
A CDL Third-Party Testing Program or Tester is a specially licensed CDL Training Program approved by the Georgia Department of Driver Services to administer the CDL road skills test to students.
CDL Third-Party Examiners are specially licensed CDL Professionals approved by the Georgia Department of Driver Services to administer CDL testing at their employing Third-Party Tester.
WHO CAN BECOME A CDL THIRD-PARTY TESTER
Any CDL Training School fully certified by DDS for at least two calendar years without non-compliance. Additionally, any accredited Board of Education Program or College operated by this State, county, or municipality thereof.

CDL THIRD-PARTY TESTER REQUIREMENTS
- Completed CDL Third-Party Tester Application
- All applicants, including owners, partners, corporate officers and/or controlling stockholders, are required to complete the GAPS fingerprinting requirement for a national and state fingerprint-based criminal background check.
- All applicants including owners, partners, corporate officers and/or controlling stockholders must obtain and submit a certified Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from each state in which they were licensed in the past 5 years except Georgia.
- Signed Third-Party Testing Agreement by all applicants including owners, partners, corporate officers and/or controlling stockholders which will be provided by the Department after the application has been approved.
- Submit required CDL Third-Party Tester Examiner Application(s) with all supporting documents (if necessary) and/or a list of examiners associated with the testing program.
- Surety Bond with a principal sum of $10,000 for each location.
- Note: This requirement does not apply to governmental entities.
- School/Company standard business hours.
- Level testing range minimum of 62,500 square feet with concrete or asphalt.
- Primary Road Skills Test Route and an Alternate Road Skills Test Route.

- Register for your criminal background check through the Georgia Applicant Processing System.
- Please submit your application packet by mail, along with fees and all supporting documents to the following:
