CDL Road Test Appointment

Please read the requirements, before calling to schedule your road test, to make sure you are able to make this appointment. Walk-ins not accepted - you must schedule a road test appointment.


  • A $50 CDL Road Test Fee is required for each testing attempt.
  • You must call the Department of Driver Services Contact Center listed below to schedule a CDL Road Test or visit a Customer Service Center.
  • The following Customer Service Centers offer Commercial Road Test:
  • All Commercial Road Tests are by appointment only. Applicants must bring both a valid driver's license and CDL permit (AP, BP) in order to begin a road test.
  • A $50 road test fee must be paid at the time the appointment is scheduled. Credit cards only are accepted for payment for telephone appointments. If you would like to use a different form of payment, you may visit any Customer Service Center to pay the $50 fee and schedule an appointment. You will receive a paper receipt which should be retained for further transactions.
  • If you fail to show for your scheduled appointment or do not call to reschedule at least the business day before your appointment, the $50 fee is lost. A new $50 fee is required to schedule the next test appointment.
  • Out of state Commercial Driver's License transfers are not eligible for appointments.
  • Customers must hold a valid learner's permit (AP or BP) to schedule an appointment. If this requirement is not met, the customer will not be tested.



  • Must arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.  Please note that if you arrive late for your appointment, it may be subject to rescheduling on a different date. 
  • The Customer Service Center reserves the right to reschedule a road test if all the items are not met. 
  • Bring a paper copy of the vehicle registration and current valid insurance car.  If the vehicle is a rental car, please make sure the name of the person testing is on the rental agreement.
  • If your vehicle has temporary tags or the vehicle was purchased within the past 30 days you you must provide a bill of sale.
  • Customers with an active suspension will not be eligible to test until the requirements have been met.

  • Appointments can be made for any location in the state up to 120 days in advance. Customer Service Centers conduct testing during most business hours.
