Driver Training Instructor Recertification
DRIVER TRAINING INSTRUCTOR RECERTIFICATION
Driver Training Instructor certification is issued for a period of up to four (4) years. The Instructor should apply for recertification within 60-90 days of expiration.
DRIVER TRAINING INSTRUCTOR RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Completed Instructor Recertification Application.
- Complete GAPS fingerprinting for a national and state criminal background check.
- Certified Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from each state in which they were licensed in the past 5 years except Georgia.
- Lab report from an accredited laboratory for your drug screen of marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and phencyclidine completed within 30 days of applying.
- $5 non-refundable application fee.
- Notarized employment letter (on school letterhead) signed by a DDS-certified Driver Training School owner within 90 days of applying.
HOW TO APPLY
- Register for your criminal background check through the Georgia Applicant Processing System.
- Please submit your application packet by mail, along with fees and all supporting documents to the following:

APPLICATION PROCESS
Please complete the application packet in its entirety to enable us to complete the process in a timely manner. It is advisable when mailing to use certified or mailing that can be tracked. Our goal is to completely approve your application within 30 business days. Once the application and supporting documentation are received, we will contact you within 7-10 business days.
