GA Department of Driver Services (DDS) Warns of Driver’s Licensing Telephone Scam Targets Senior Citizens

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is warning the public of driver licensing telephone scams that have resurfaced targeting our more senior customers.  Drivers are being contacted by individuals asking for money to keep their driver’s license from being suspended or cancelled. Common DMV scams also utilize Social Media channels, email and texting.

GA Department of Driver Services (DDS) Receives New Grant Funding Dedicated to Teen Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP)

Department of Driver Services (DDS) Commissioner Spencer R. Moore recently announced the receipt of a grant award of $43,018 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for continued support of the State of Georgia Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP). ADAP is a course designed to increase awareness among teens of the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol and the consequences of operating a motor vehicle while impaired or distracted.

GA Dept of Driver Services (DDS) Receives Grant to Accelerate Convictions, Dismissals and Updates in State’s Electronic Conviction Processing System (GECPS)

Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) Commissioner Spencer R. Moore recently announced the receipt of a grant award in the amount of $240,487 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) to support, maintain and upgrade the State of Georgia Electronic Conviction Processing System (GECPS).

DDS Holds Successful Commercial Driver Industry Town Hall

Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) hosted a successful Commercial Driver Industry Town Hall Meeting in Macon recently. The meeting brought together over 100 transportation business partners and DDS Team Members to share information and address Georgia’s commercial driver shortages.
