Mail-In Renewals

The Georgia Department of Driver Services offers renewal by mail options. These options are available for U.S. citizens who are unable to renew their licenses in person.

If your license is a Real ID document, you can renew your Georgia driver's license, permit, or ID online. Your Real ID license or id will have a black or gold star in the top right-hand corner.

The following customers can apply for a mail-in renewal:

  • Handicapped customers who are unable to visit a DDS Center will receive a Georgia ID card only.
