FMCSA MEDICAL REGISTRY REQUIREMENT
All interstate Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) or CDL drivers need a medical exam to get their CDL medical certificate. The examinations must be performed by a certified Medical Examiner.
A list of certified examiners can be found on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) registry site. For a list of providers, view the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
The registry allows you to:
- Search by zip code, state, or examiner name
- Choose a certified Medical Examiner from the list and call to make an appointment
If your preferred Healthcare Provider is not on the list, refer them to the registry to certify.
