Step 2: Pauper’s Affidavit cannot be submitted by mail and must be submitted in-person at a DDS location. Customers must bring proof of the following when submitting in-person:
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Free or Reduced Lunch Program
- Temporary Assistance Nutrition Funding (TANF)
- Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
- Detention, Certification Documentation

1. Does DDS offer a discount on any reinstatement fee(s) payments?
DDS offers to waive reinstatement fees for drivers who certify that they are unable to pay their reinstatement fees. This decision is based on an evaluation of the responses provided on the Pauper’s Affidavit.

2. Who can get a discount on reinstatement fee(s) payments?
Anyone who owes reinstatement fees can complete the Pauper’s Affidavit at a DDS Customer Service Center.
DDS does not offer a reduction for:
• Super Speeder
• Non-sufficient funds
• Safety Responsibility suspensions

3. How will my Pauper’s Affidavit request be evaluated?
You must provide proof that you qualify for one or more of the following benefits: Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Free or Reduced Lunch Program, Temporary Assistance Nutrition Funding (TANF), Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Detention Certification Documentation.

4. Can I mail my request for a discount to DDS?
No. DDS will only accept submission of the Pauper’s Affidavit in-person at a DDS Customer Service Center.

You can get a Pauper’s Affidavit by requesting one at any DDS Customer Service Center.
