School Bus Endorsement

Requirements for a school bus endorsement

An applicant for a school bus endorsement must meet the following requirements:

  • Take and Pass the general knowledge tests for obtaining a CDL
  • Take and Pass the "Passenger" vehicle and "School Bus" endorsement knowledge exams
  • Must take a driving skills test in a school bus of the same vehicle group, as the school bus applicant will drive
  • Applicants who intend to drive a school bus for a public school system may present the signed and notarized Form Download this pdf file. DDS-1233 to waive the $35 application fee
  • The following fees would be still be required:
    • Road test fees ($50)
    • License fees ($20)
    • Endorsement fees ($5 each)
