Air Travel Alert
On October 1, 2020, anyone who boards a domestic flight or enters a federal building will either need a Georgia Secure ID Driver's License (DL) or Identification Card (ID) or will need to provide a regular identification and additional accepted forms of identification. The GA Secure ID License/ID meets all the federal regulations for a Real ID compliant document. Your GA Secure ID License/ID will have a Gold or Black Star in upper right hand corner of your License or ID.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) no longer accepts Temporary (Interim) Licenses and ID Cards as proof of identification for boarding flights at airports. If you're making changes to your license and plan to fly, please plan ahead of time. Your permanent license will be received within 30 days of receiving the Temporary (Interim) document.
