Headshot of the new 2025 Director of DDS Angelique McClendon

Dear Customers,

It is with great pride and deep gratitude that I step into the role of Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Driver Services. As a lifelong public servant and a fellow Georgian, I am honored to lead an agency that touches the lives of millions each year; whether through issuing driver’s licenses and identification cards or by supporting safe, secure, and accessible services across our great state.

My vision as Commissioner is rooted in a simple but powerful commitment: to put our customers at the heart of everything we do. I believe that every interaction with DDS should be clear, convenient, and respectful—whether you're visiting one of our Customer Service Centers (CSC), renewing your license online, or using one of our kiosks in your community.

As we look to the future, my focus will be on safeguarding your personal information, strengthening public safety, and expanding innovative solutions that make your experience smoother and more efficient. From modernizing technology to enhancing frontline service, we are embracing change with purpose and with you in mind.

I am especially excited to partner with our dedicated DDS team, state leaders, and most importantly you, our customers. Your feedback, ideas, and trust are the driving forces behind our progress. Together, we will continue to build a department that delivers with integrity, compassion, and excellence.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your commissioner. I look forward to this journey ahead and to earning your confidence every step of the way.

Warm regards

Angelique B. McClendon
