A Farm Waiver allows drivers to drive commercial vehicles without a CDL. 

  • Basic Requirements - Farm Waiver

    • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to apply. 

    • All applicants must have held a valid Class C or equivalent license for at least one year to qualify for this waiver. 

    • Farm Waivers are for Restricted CDL Class B vehicles only. Operators cannot drive a Class A vehicle with a Farm Waiver license.

    • Restricted Class B - Conditions and Restrictions: 
      • The restricted CDL holder must possess a valid Farm Related Services Waiver card while operating a commercial motor vehicle.

      • Operation of a non-commercial vehicle is allowed during these times, even if the waiver has not been renewed.
         
    • Those employed in the following industries will operate within a 150-mile radius of their employer’s address:
      • Farm retail employer's outlet or supplier
      • Agri-chemical
      • Custom harvester
      • Livestock feeder

    Submit Your Information

    Before visiting your Customer Service Center please submit the License/ID/Permit Form. This form is required when visiting a DDS Customer Service Center. It helps prevent fraud and prepares you for your visit ahead of time. Your information will remain on file for 60 days. After 60 days you will need to complete and submit your information again before visiting the center.

    If taking an Automobile, Motorcycle Skills, or CDL Road Test, don't forget to Schedule a Road Test Appointment after submitting your information.
