Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) Receives Award in Annual State Charitable Contributions Program (SCCP)

June 6, 2018

For the fifth consecutive year, the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) has received the Governor’s Cup Award for team member participation in the 2017/2018 State Charitable Contributions Program. DDS raised a total of $31,475.00 while setting an agency record for participation.

DDS Commissioner Spencer R. Moore and several team members accepted the Governor’s Cup for Highest Contribution Per Employee for an Agency sized 501-1000 employees recently from Governor Nathan Deal.

“I am very proud of the impact that we are having on the communities in which we are privileged to live and work – not only through driver’s education, testing and license issuance but through our generous charitable giving,” said DDS Commissioner Spencer R. Moore. “We appreciate this acknowledgement from Governor Deal and Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) Commissioner Shawn Ryan.”

DDS raised a total of $31,475.24 and achieved a record number of participants with 79% of all team members completing a pledge form.  An integral component to this campaign’s success was due to the engagement of all the DDS field employees located throughout the state. DDS District Managers worked with the 67 Customer Service Center managers to get the team members engaged.

The State Charitable Contributions Program provides state employees with a convenient way to annually help thousands of Georgia families and non-profit organizations. Employees may select from more than one thousand charitable organizations to make contributions by payroll deductions or direct payments.
